Hi! My name is Jonathan Starnes. Except for my time in the military, I have lived in Middle Georgia all of my life. With the Army, I was stationed in South Korea and later Frederick, Maryland before moving back to Georgia in 2014 to settle down and build my family.
Construction, architecture, and carpentry have always been major influences in my life. I come from a family deeply rooted in the building industry, with relatives specializing in architecture, carpentry, asbestos and mold abatement, and remodeling. Through these family ties and personal experience, I developed a true passion for working with my hands.
Hands-On Experience & Notable Projects:
Craftsmanship: Spent summers building wooden sailboats with my grandfather in Cedar Key, Florida.
New Construction: Personally designed, drew plans, contracted, and oversaw the construction of my own 3,800-square-foot house in Marshallville, GA.
Major Remodels: Converted a screened-in porch into a den, replaced the metal roof on my grandfather's farmhouse under my cousin's oversight, and executed extensive residential remodeling.
Home Improvements: Personally custom-built decks and closets, sub-contracted and oversaw the construction of my boathouse, shop, and pool, alongside ongoing home maintenance and remodeling.
My experience in commercial building systems maintenance and building systems integration (gained through the military, contracting, and the private sector) has provided me with a wide span of technical skills across low-voltage systems, electrical, and HVAC over the years. I bring this blend of technical background, lifelong trade experience, and personal pride in workmanship to this venture into business ownership through home maintenance and repair as a handyman.
